HO Scale PL Railroad Signals
We are proud to share our line of position light signals in HO scale. While originally developed for use on the Pennsylvania Railroad, variations on position light designs are still in use by several railroads. We have established our collection of signals based on three different styles; standard PL-2 circular signals, PL-4 dwarf signals, and PL-5 pedestal signals.
Our PL-2 signals are unique in the model railroading market because we have implemented a realistic "spider" on the back of the signal. Unlike other models which may only look authentic from the front, our signals have realistic styling all the way around! Each light has its own LED, with wires passing through the scale conduit and out the back of the model. This construction style mimics the real thing in both form and function. We have prepared many variations of these signals which can be used to display all the aspects commonly used on the Pennsylvania Railroad. We have the ability to provide refined, specific models which match any real-life signal installation.
These PL-4 dwarf signals are completely to scale, with no "oversizing" needed to bring realistic function to the model. This model is based on the later PL-4 design, introduced after 1930. The model is ready to be mounted on a layout of diorama, with the wires routed out the bottom of the signal. As with the PL-2 signals, we offer our dwarves in several variations in which different lights are blanked out, which has been and remains common practice.
The model we are the most proud of is our PL-5 pedestal signal. As with our dwarf signal model, we have made no concessions in the design of this signal. The mast to which the signal is mounted maintains a realistic diameter, while still allowing the wires to pass through it. The signal head is authentically sized, while still allowing for up to 8 individual LEDs. This signal is available in any variation imaginable, with specific lights blanked out.
As with all of our lighted models, these signals are fully functional right out of the package. These signals come pre-wired, with 38 gauge wire about 24" long. This makes it very easy to route the wires beneath a layout to a controller. Each model comes with a latex mask pre-applied over each lens. This makes it simple to paint the model. After the model has been painted, the mask can be removed, revealing the pristine lens underneath.
This is a fairly complete collection of signals, some of which are still in use on modern railroads. We are excited to fill a void in the HO scale market, and we hope these signals can find a home on your layout! Visit our Shop page to browse the offerings and learn more!
The Little Details Collections
We are proud to introduce our Little Details line of scale model miniatures. While our Little Lights line focuses on realistic lighting effects to fit a variety of needs, the Little Details line emphasizes highly detailed, uncompromising miniatures to fit in a variety of scenes in HO, S, and O scales.
Each model in this collection has been painstakingly reproduced using real-life measurements to ensure consistent and authentic sizing. You will be hard-pressed to find any compromises in our designs. We look to replace the multitude of sloppy injection molded models on the market with our crisp lines and high level of detail.
With a high level of precision comes the physical limitation of fragility. In order to protect our models and give you the best experience in handling them, our more detailed offerings come enclosed in a protective clam-shell case. This way, the fine components of each model are protected against rough handling during shipment.
Each model we make available is listed as part of a themed collection of miniatures. This means that every package comes with 10-20 separate models, all of a similar background. This makes it extremely easy to populate a scene with many different miniatures to increase the life-like effect of your model railroad or diorama.
If you're looking for something specific that is not currently in our catalog, then by all means, get in touch! We are always looking for inspiration for the next collection, as our goal is to introduce a new collection about once a month.
Little Lights Traffic Signals
Our line of Little Lights traffic signals bring a higher level of realism to your model. These functional traffic lights come in a wide variety of options, so you can find just what you need for your model. Whether you're modeling a specific historic location, or you're building a freelance railroad, we have what you need to bring your model to the next level.
Our traffic lights are hand-made right here in the USA, so you know you're getting a product of the highest quality. Using state-of-the-art computer modeling tools and SLA resin fabrication techniques, we can rapidly produce our traffic lights with nearly infinite variations. Each unit features hand-soldered LED lights and long color-coded pigtails, making it extremely easy to set up.
We offer our full line of lights in HO scale (1:87), S scale (1:64), and O scale (1:48). The lights are available in 3-light, 2-light, and 1-light variations. The 3-light version uses a standard red-yellow-green pattern. The 2-light version is available in a red-green pattern, a double red pattern, and a double yellow pattern. The 1-light variation is available in both a red light version and a yellow light version.
Additionally, each lighting option is available in a variety of configurations. We offer both vertical and horizontally oriented lights, and lights with and without a tin bezel around the perimeter.
Each light uses color-coded 30 gauge wire which is easy to route underneath your railroad or diorama. We use a common ground (cathode) configuration in all of our lights. Because of the nature of LED lights, however, a current-limiting resistor must be used in each installation. That's not a problem, though, because we include the necessary resistor with each light. Simply connect one end of the resistor to the black wire from your light, connect the other end to your zero volt (ground) connection, and connect one of the color-coded wires from your light to positive voltage! The resistor included with your light is designed to work between 5 and 12 volts.
Little Lights Street Lamps
Bring classic styling to your model railroad or diorama with our Little Lights Street Lamps. These lamps feature LED lighting, so they'll last a lifetime! Available with both amber and white LEDs, you can find just the right option to meet your needs. These street lamps are plug and play, so you can incorporate a fantastic lighting effect with minimal effort. Our Little Lights Street Lamps are available in HO scale, S scale, and O scale.
Each light uses 30 gauge wire which is easy to route below your railroad or diorama. Each street lamp has all the necessary hardware built-in, so no additional hardware is needed. Simply connect the black wire to the ground (negative) connection, and connect the red wire to a positive voltage. Our street lamps are designed to work between 5 and 12 volts DC.
Little Lights Post Lights
These post-style traffic lights offer a complete solution for your scale model intersection. Each traffic signal is incorporated with a sturdy post with classic styling that is ready to install on a model railroad or diorama. Each post light features hand-soldered LEDs and long color-coded pigtails, making it extremely easy to set up.
We offer 4 variations in three different scales, so you can find just what you need! We offer post lights in both 1-way and 4-way configurations, and both in red/green and red/yellow/green light configurations. As with our other scale model lights, we offer these post lights in O scale, S scale, and HO Scale.
These post lights pair very well with our Little Lights Street Lamps and our Little Lights Traffic Signals.
