Installation Instructions
Though our traffic lights are made from a durable yellow resin, a more realistic effect can be achieved by painting them. A small amount of light bleed-through naturally occurs from the LEDs, however a layer of paint will reduce this. Be careful not to paint over the lenses though!
Our traffic lights require a current-limiting resistor to work properly, which is included. If the light is connected to power without a resistor in place, this will instantly damage the light. To safely power the signal, connect one end of the resistor to the black wire, connect the other end to zero volts (ground), then connect the red, yellow, and green wires from the light to positive voltage. The resistor included with the light is designed to work with power supplies up to 12 volts.
If this signal is being used with our Little Light Controller, the connections are simplified! The current-limiting resistors are built into the controller, allowing for a direct connection between the traffic signal and the controller. See the manual for our controller for more details.
